Lockdown Call With Class

 

Durning lockdown. Schools have been doing online learning like Rupotaka School. My class would have google meets at 10:00 am, and another google meets at 2:30pm. During our meetings, we talk about the learning that we have to do for the day or for the week. There's a photo of my class doing hearts

Update For Term 2

 My wins in Term 2 were :

• Going to inter-schools for sports ( soccer, volleyball )
• Having a good report at the expected level
• Going to trips with the Year 7 and 8s
• Seeing how the school park was gonna be made ( #prefects )

My challenges for the 2 terms were :

• Maths.Writing, Reading 
• Art/footsteps ( dancing )
• Hosting assemblies
• Trying to help others with their work 

My last words for Term 2 :

My Reading Group

My reading group is really smart because we are the highest out of everyone.  We always work as a team and whats funny is that there is only four people in our group.  We read chapter books and others.  We always work as a team we have a talk and laugh sometimes.  We always finish our work sometimes.  We do fun things .  My reading group is the best because we are friends and we trust each other and we are kind to each other.

Our reading group name = Kaitiakitanga  

School Is Fun

We learnt how to write poems and do different poems. Some poems rhyme and some do not. Here's one of my poems that I wrote.

School Is Fun

School is cool,

School is fun,

Playing in the rain,

Playing in the sun

Learning new things,

Reading and maths,

Numbers in your head,

Words that  you have

Interval at 11,

Playing with friends,

Wishing and wishing like a genie,

That the fun won’t end

Doing our spelling,

Writing down ten,

Always hard to write ,

I’ll have to write it again

School is the best,

Because I like to be with my friends,

All the time I use,

Is school time I spend.

I did achieve my reading goal, because... after I read a sentence, I take a deep breathe.

I did achieve my writing goal, because... I use juicy words in poems I make to make sound like someone wants to read it.

I did achieve my maths goal, because... I use a a fast way of learning my 6 times tables.

T2 Goals

My Experience Reading Toi Toi Books

Intro:

Yesterday Room 9 and 10 went to room 11 because we were going to read toi toi books.

#Waiting

First we sat on the floor and sang This Is Me, which was the song we were going to sing for the people from toi toi.  We waited for them and Conzay.  Then Conzay had arrived same as the people from toi toi.  They had introduced them selves.   After they introduced them selves we got into 6 groups. 

     #reading

We went in our groups, in my group was Halasika, Sai, Ocyan, Faye, Myrie, And Sione.  We all looked at poems stories and pictures.  There were lots of amazing art and writing that was done by 10-12 year olds .   We first read The Whistle Blows.  The picture looked really funny because there were people playing rugby and there was a giant playing which the giant had kicked a player on the other rugby team.

#Saying Goodbye

We had finished and said good bye.  Alamoni stood  and said a thank you to the people from toi toi.  Then we finished saying goodbye with a song.  We said goodbye, and we were lucky because we got keep some books no like keep keep but we got to keep them to only read

Reflection on T1 goals

Reading

My goal for reading is to improve on reading with expression because I'm terrible at it.  If I read with expression I can move to the next best level.  

Achieved- because I can make funny voices.

Writing

My goal for writing is to use a lot of juicy words like enormous.  Using juicy words makes my story interesting, longer and better.

Needs Work- because I don't really use juicy words that much

Maths 

My goal for maths is to learn my 9 times tables. I can take two or five weeks.

Achieved- because I used a strategy to do my times tables.
