Kaikoura has now been shut down because of the cyclone. About 200 tourists from other countries are trapped in the south westland.

Strong Wind Hits New Zealand
Countries Like Christchurch,Grey District, Selwyn, Westland, Tasman and Taranaki had got hit by the terrible gita cyclone. Almost 500 calls were through the whole night.
