Today, Room 1 / 7 did cybersmart learning together with the cybersmart teacher as u can see there is both the originial photo and my coloured version. 

The other things we learned were the rules for the summer learning jounery

• Can not work as a team 
• Prizes will be earned in the beggining of 2022
• Manaiakalani staff will be commenting and reading your blog posts

This is what level 3.2 at school looks like: Wearing masks every time, except for when you are eating. Sanitizing and washing hands when going in or out. only a few students. 2 teachers per class. Leaving the windows open for air. Even though Auckland has a lot of cases at the moment. Both students and teachers need to be careful. This is very different than online at home. Usually, at home, you would wake up a little late and hop straight on to home learning. But now that we are back to school, things are a little bit back to normal. School starts at 10:00am - 2:00pm. Hope the cases go down.

Biggest potato

BIGGEST POTATO

 

A couple in New Zealand best believed that they had grown the world's biggest potato. At first, they didn't know that there was a potato growing underneath the ground. Until they discovered it. The couple said that the potato weighed, 7.89 kgs. They have named the potato ¨doug¨ and are applying for the Guinness world records.

Today for online tech, I was doing cooking with Mrs. Hamer from Tamaki College, On online google meets. We had to finish our google doc that had our work on it. 

             We had to name a food that we made during lockdown

Tokelau Poster

As you know. it was Tokelauan Language Week. One of the work/tasks that my class had to do was make a Tokelauan poster. As you can see this is the poster that I created on google drawing doc. It has the Tokelauan flag and patterns.  

Education Perfect

 

At 10:00, my class had our google meets, to catch up on the learning we were going to be doing for the day. We had to do our tasks that were on Project perfect. It's a site where you can choose which subjects or complete tasks that your teacher has given you. This is a really good website in my opinion

Going For Walks

During lockdown. One way of keeping fit was going on walks. My siblings + my dad and I went on walks on sunny days during the lockdown. Walks around the block and running the fields + exercises. It was another way of keeping the house quiet cause mum works. LOL

Math Transum

 

Today during google meets room 1 had a maths lesson on decimals and fractions. and percentages we used a game called Percentage Quiz. I managed to get all 12 questions right. 50% is another way of saying half. For example, 50% of 60 would be 30, Because half of 60 is 30 Try the game yourself to see if u can answer all questions

Transum Maths

 

Today, rooms 1 & 7 had a google meets for maths. We went through different sites like transum. Fast factors was a transum game that could help u with your timetables. I managed to do my 9 times tables in 71 secs. Try it out yourself to see how fast you can do your times tables. TRANSUM

 KOALA UNCLE

The time when my uncle finally let me jam the game 

My uncle is like a lazy koala who sleeps in the day and works in the night. He’s always playing the PS4 and always hogging. The only time and chance that id gets to play are when he’s sleeping or if he’s out. He's taller than me by a few inches. A few months go by and my uncle is finally moved out. But instead of leaving the PS4 for me, he steals - I mean he takes it from me. "hello darkness my old friend"

Ki - Orahi

Yesterday rooms 1 and 7 ( year 7 and 8s ) had ki - or ahi after morning tea.  The classes were versing each other. If u don't know what ki or ahi is. Ki Orahi is: Games are 5 minute quarters with an immediate change at quarter time and a 2-minute break at half time. The sport is non-contact but players wear a belt holding two velcro tags around their waist. Shirts must be tucked in at all times. No watches or other jewelry are allowed to be worn during play.

Reflection For Term 3 Week 1

 Reflection For Term 3 Week 1

This week has been good, for the first week back since the school holidays. I got to catchup with my friends that I havnt talked to in a while in the holidays. Yesterday after morning tea, the year 7&8s had ki orahi. Fun and hard,  got muddy on both my shoes and uniform. On Tuesday, my class was doing transum maths on chromebooks. There was different games and puzzels.

What I didnt like :

• The class had to go on the mat, cause that wern´t listening
• The class was loud

 My wins in Term 2 were :

• Going to inter-schools for sports ( soccer, volleyball )
• Having a good report at the expected level
• Going to trips with the Year 7 and 8s
• Seeing how the school park was gonna be made ( #prefects )

 Volley Ball Tournament

Yesterday, Ruapotaka had selected 10 years 6 and 5, and year 7 and 8 volleyball teams. I had gotten selected to go represent my school along with 9 other years 7 and 8s. Our transport was the 2 deputy principals, Mr. Nevalangi, And my mum. On our way to the barefoot stadium, At Selwyn college.  As we finally reached our destination. both teams stood outside to talk about what will happen for the day.  Going into the stadium ready and prepared. 

We put our bags down on where we were sitting. 1 hour went by and the year 6 team had already played their first game. Turned out we had an automatic win, because saint piers didn't show up to the event. In the year 7 and 8s second game, we versed glen Taylor . Hard game, but we lost. Tamaki Primary , Pt england x2 . 

Hard , tired day , on Wednesday . It was worth it though .

Things I did In The Holidays

My holidays was ok ..... i was too bored , so I ended up writing songs . I managed to write 6 songs . If I was to show u the lyrics it would take u long to read . I asked people if they wanted me to write a song about them ..... i got 3 people . I did a song for my bestfriend / my sisda / and the others were jus for fun .

 SOCCER TOURNAMENT TRYOUTS 

On Wednesday afternoon @2:00 in the after noon . years 5 - 8 were having their soccer tryouts for the soccer teamz . The teams would be 5 v 5 .  there was half of field for the groups to verse .  so the would be 2 sets . One side would have a game , and on the other side theres another game .  after a game , the teamz would switch sides or switch opponents .  

Running , and teamwork for almost a hour .  Everbody was tired , as we finnaly stopped the tryouts aka the games .  Legs were tired .  Heads were sweating .  Everyone was happy to participate .

School photos

 2 weeks ago Ruapotaka was having their school photos .  I was the runner aka  getting each class for their photo.  Lots of running was involved .  If I was to calculate how long  I was running for , It would have been almost 2 hours that i was running non stop just to get each  class photo.  There would be times where I would have a 2 min rest.  Not only that I would also be in my photo.

After all of that running the year 7 and 8s went to tech .

 Many people have friends but do you know what a friend is ? Here are 2 reasons of what a good friend is

Kindness

Wow , what did you expect. Of course kindness is involved . But there's different meanings for kindness . A friend that is kind would do these things

 1) Listen to you when your sad 

 2) Help when your in need 

 3) Be your friend if he or she has others

 4) Take a joke that you tell them.

 5) Be nice to you online and in the real world.

1st day of lockdown

 My first day of lock down was okay because of these reasons.

I went on  a whereby call with my friends.  We played games on our Chromebooks.  We had a really good night. We stayed up all night.      Also i ate a lot of .  The day I found out about covid level 3 was on Saturday. I was on a call with my friends.  Until the news came up. It was dark at that time though .  It was around 10:00pm at that time ,when my friends and I found out about level 3 lockdown

It was okay at first but i still have online class hope it ends.

 Hello my name is Sebastian and I am a year seven student and I go to Ruapotaka  primary school.  I am 12 turning 13 years old and I am in room eight .  I don’t  really have that many goals for 2k21. I am Samoan and I live in east Auckland.  My hobbies are  sports and I like to play 1v1.  I have 4 siblings and a mum of dad.  I like to mostly play games on my chromebook.  I like reading   writing and math. I hope  that  I can finish 2k21 without covid.
